SOUTHFIELDS SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD TEAM – PUBLIC MEETING – 11 JULY 2026

1. Crime Stats for Southfields Ward – March to May 2026

• Ward Priorities – it was agreed to that Southfields SNT Ward would have the following priorities: motor vehicle crime; shoplifting; parcel theft
  
  
• Community Action Points & Met Engage – People, including shops, were reminded to sign up to Met Engage, also to use ‘999’ for emergencies and ‘101’ for non-emergencies.  Reporting crime of WhatsApp groups is not the same as reporting to the police. 

• Shoplifting – There were more reported cases of shoplifting during this period compared to this same period last year.  It remains critically important that shops report shoplifting incidents.  Recently some members of SNT went on a patrol in plain clothes and were able to speak to managers of shops.  In most cases, shoplifting in Southfields were carried out by Class A drug users who get their drugs from outside Southfields.

• Speed Gun – The speed gun is being used more frequently.  Details of when the speed gun will be used next please click on this link to access the SNT website.  Following necessary training, Police staff members using the speed gun can now use it to issue speeding tickets. 

• Lime Bikes – Wandsworth Borough Council (WBC) will be meeting with Lime Bikes.  Where lime bikes have been confiscated by WBC, Lime Bikes will be asked to cover the cost of their impoundment.
